Hello! My name is Dunia Shabani and I am currently a fourth year Journalism Media and Studies major at San Diego State University! I am originally from Malaga, Spain but I have lived in the United States for a couple of years now. My dream end goal with taking the Journalism path is to work for sports media and make women in the sports industry feel welcomed! This year I am so insanely excited to learn more about what makes Journalism so important as well as key aspects about digital components that I can apply to my work field in the future. There is definitely a lot that intrigues me about media and writing itself.
After looking through the course and understanding more about what we are going to learn, I am excited for the teaching about digital journalism. I have been able to gather a lot of information through the different courses I have taken throughout the years (ex, 250, 210, 200, 315, etc). I learned a lot about about social media and the amount of fake news that come with it, as well as AI/generated content that has changed the media world in different ways. Overall. I am super excited to learn more key aspects as I know they will all play a role in my future!
